Brandon Morton Scores First-Round Submission Win Over Ryan Moore at XFA 01 in Crossville

CROSSVILLE, TN – Team Phoenix’s Brandon Morton made a successful jump up to featherweight, earning a first-round rear-naked choke victory over Crossville MMA’s Ryan Moore at XFA 01, held at the National Guard Armory in Crossville, Tennessee.

The bout marked the third Xtreme Fighting Alliance (XFA) event in Crossville, but the first of the 2025 calendar year, following two successful shows in 2024. For Moore, a hometown fighter competing out of Crossville MMA, it was a chance to rebound from a three-fight skid, including his most recent appearance at XFA LIVE 02 in Cookeville, Tennessee back in February.

Morton, who normally competes at bantamweight, entered the cage on short notice, just two weeks removed from a tough first-round submission loss at War at the Wex 3 in North Carolina. Despite the quick turnaround and the step up in weight, Morton showed poise and aggression from the opening bell.

The North Carolina-based fighter wasted no time pressing the action. After a brief exchange on the feet, Morton secured a takedown and quickly transitioned to the back. From there, he methodically worked his way into position, sinking in a tight rear-naked choke that forced the tap in the first round.

With the win, Morton evens his amateur record at 2-1 and adds a highlight-reel finish to his resume. Moore, meanwhile, drops to 0-4 but remains a fan favorite for his grit and willingness to compete against tough opposition.
