Crossville, TN - XFA Fight Night 7 is shaping up to deliver fireworks on January 3rd in Crossville, Tennessee, and the co-main event may very well steal the entire night. Two of the most exciting athletes in the promotion will collide when Kam Lawson and Zack Mohamed meet for the XFA Strawweight Amateur Kickboxing Championship in a bout that already feels like an early Fight of the Year contender. Lawson enters the matchup as one of the most accomplished kickboxers on the XFA roster. He is currently 2–0 inside the XFA cage with an overall amateur record of 3–1, and he holds the distinction of being the reigning XFA Flyweight Kickboxing Champion. Lawson captured that title in August at XFA 02 in Knoxville, earning a dominant second-round TKO victory to claim the belt. Training out of Grunt Kickboxing in Nebraska, Lawson has built a reputation as an explosive and dangerous striker who continues to evolve every time he steps into the cage. Now, he’s chasing history. A win on January 3rd would make Lawson a champ-champ, adding the strawweight title to his résumé and solidifying his status as one of the most complete kickboxers in the promotion.
Standing across from him is one of XFA’s fastest-rising stars. Zack Mohamed enters this bout with an undefeated XFA record at 3–0 and also owns an overall 3-1 record. He last competed in November at XFA LIVE 04, where he went to war in what many consider one of the fights of the year against Trey Kendricks for the XFA Strawweight title. That performance showcased Mohamed’s grit, cardio, and ability to thrive in high-pressure moments. Mohamed trains out of Swiftkick MMA in Nashville, Tennessee, a gym well-known for producing aggressive, high-level strikers. Now, Mohamed looks to defend the strawweight championship he earned in November, doing so against a proven champion who’s hungry to add another belt to his collection. Both athletes are known for pushing the pace and delivering action-packed performances, with multiple Fight of the Night–caliber bouts between them. Their styles, momentum, and championship experience make this matchup one of the most anticipated fights on the entire card. With gold on the line, legacies at stake, and the year just getting started, this co-main event has all the ingredients to be one of the best fights of 2025—and we’re getting it in January.
