Denham vs. Deck Set for Inaugural XFA Amateur Heavyweight Title

CROSSVILLE, TN –  Xtreme Fighting Alliance (XFA) returns to the National Guard Armory in Crossville for XFA Fight Night 5, featuring a stacked lineup of bouts that culminate in two marquee title fights. In the co-main event of the evening, history will be made as Josh Denham of London Martial Arts and Cody Deck of Upper Cumberland MMA square off for the inaugural XFA Amateur Heavyweight Championship.

This championship marks the first time the XFA will crown an amateur heavyweight champion, and both fighters are stepping in with something to prove.

Josh Denham (1-2) is unbeaten in XFA competition and is quickly becoming a fan favorite in the promotion. He burst onto the scene last November at XFA LIVE in Cookeville with a decision win in his amateur kickboxing debut.  He followed that performance with a gritty and violent MMA victory over Jimmy Howe on April 26th, stopping him in the second round after a bloody back-and-forth war.  Despite a rough start to his amateur career outside the XFA, Denham has shown resilience, durability, and fight-finishing potential every time he's stepped into the XFA cage and remains undefeated under the banner.

Across from him stands Cody Deck, making his return to competition after more than a decade away from the fight game.  Deck went 1-0 in amateur kickboxing over ten years ago but hasn’t fought since—until now.  Representing Upper Cumberland MMA in Cookeville, Deck is fighting in front of a local crowd and looking to shock the scene by capturing championship gold in his XFA debut.  While questions remain about ring rust and timing, Deck brings years of training, composure, and veteran instincts that could prove to be the X-factor in this heavyweight clash.

With Denham’s battle-tested toughness and Deck’s mystery-shrouded return, the matchup promises drama, action, and a fitting bout for the crowning of XFA’s first-ever amateur heavyweight king.
