Crossville, TN – Under the canopy of trees and the fading summer sun at Cumberland Mountain State Park, XFA delivered another unforgettable grappling showdown—this time featuring two rising stars in the regional Jiu-Jitsu scene. Crossville MMA’s own Dylan Dhuivetter squared off against Upper Cumberland MMA’s powerhouse Drevin Ashburn in a no-gi superfight that had the crowd on edge from start to finish. The match kicked off with energy and intensity. Drevin immediately showcased his raw strength, establishing dominant grips and making his physicality known. Dylan, undeterred, jumped into a standing guillotine attempt early, but Drevin countered with authority—holding Dylan mid-air before delivering a powerful slam to the mat. From there, Drevin implemented a grinding top-pressure game plan that began to take over. Dylan worked off his back, trying to establish his guard, but Drevin used relentless pressure to drive him into the cage. Despite Dylan’s efforts to recover and create openings, Drevin’s strength continued to smother the guard attempts and disrupt any momentum from the bottom.
Eventually, the action returned to open space, but the story remained the same: Drevin's top pressure was unrelenting. He advanced to half guard and continued to wear on Dylan, who managed to recover full guard but couldn’t mount any significant offense due to Drevin’s positional control. With time winding down in regulation, the match returned to the feet. Drevin shot in for a well-timed single-leg takedown and once again returned the match to his comfort zone—pressing from the top and staying active inside Dylan’s butterfly guard as the buzzer signaled the end of regulation. In overtime, both competitors showed a moment of caution on the feet, recognizing the stakes. It was Dylan who made the strategic choice to pull butterfly guard. This time, he didn’t wait. As Drevin began a guard pass, Dylan reacted with flawless timing—snatching an armbar in transition and executing it with precision. The sudden submission brought the crowd to its feet and sealed a dramatic come-from-behind victory for the Crossville MMA standout. With this win, Dylan Dhuivetter adds a highlight-reel finish to his growing résumé, while Drevin Ashburn earns respect for a dominant regulation performance and grit throughout the match.
