Crossville, TN - The XFA Fight Night 5 crowd at the National Guard Armory was treated to an absolute war in the amateur bantamweight division as Robin Singh of Fit Martial Arts (Nova Scotia) made a statement in his MMA debut with a stunning second-round knockout over Carter Allred of S.P.A.R. Martial Arts. This was the XFA and MMA debut for both fighters, and neither man held back. From the opening bell, Allred and Singh came out swinging with unrelenting aggression, trading wild exchanges that had fans on their feet. The pace was electric, and both fighters landed clean, heavy shots in the early going. Midway through the first round, Allred appeared to land a strike that rocked Singh. Smelling blood, Allred swarmed with pressure against the cage, but Singh instinctively shot for a takedown to slow the onslaught. In a slick sequence, Allred countered the takedown by threatening a standing guillotine, rolling into mount with a tight mounted guillotine attempt. Singh showed excellent composure, escaping the submission but giving up position in the process. Allred re-established mount and landed several punishing strikes before Singh scrambled to his feet.
Blood was visible on Singh’s right temple by the end of Round 1, and both fighters were visibly exhausted after the frantic pace. Still, neither man looked ready to quit. Round 2 began with Allred again pressing forward, landing a hard right that stunned Singh early. But the Nova Scotian proved he came to fight, rallying through the adversity and engaging in another wild exchange. This time, it was Singh who landed clean, dropping Allred and immediately securing mount during the scramble. From there, Singh unleashed a barrage of vicious ground-and-pound, forcing the referee to step in and wave off the fight, awarding Singh the knockout victory in Round 2. The bout was widely considered Fight of the Night for its high-octane pace, nonstop action, and dramatic momentum swings. Both debuting athletes left it all in the cage and earned the respect of everyone in attendance. Expect to see much more from both Carter Allred and Robin Singh in the XFA cage in the future. This is exactly the kind of heart, grit, and violence that defines XFA.
