Flores Outlasts Dhuivetter in Debut Kickboxing Clash at XFA 02

Knoxville, TN –  The Knoxville World’s Fair Park played host to history as Xtreme Fighting Alliance (XFA) held its first-ever Pro/Am event, XFA 02. On a night filled with breakthrough performances, the second bout of the evening delivered a high-paced, crowd-pleasing battle between two strawweight (115 lbs) debutants in the amateur kickboxing ranks: North Hayastan’s Yorreni Flores and Crossville MMA’s Abigail Dhuivetter.

Round-by-Round Action

From the opening bell, Flores wasted no time taking control of the pace. She came out aggressive, pressing forward and throwing with volume. Dhuivetter, though composed, was hesitant to return fire early. When she did begin to throw midway through the round, her punches landed with more power, but Flores’ fluidity and higher output made Round 1 an undeniable win for her.

Round 2 saw a shift as Dhuivetter began to find her rhythm. She looked more comfortable on her feet, landing solid strikes and combinations that outpaced Flores’ efforts. Both fighters began to show signs of fatigue, but Dhuivetter maintained her pressure and earned the round, evening the fight at one round apiece.

In the final round, Flores surged back with her trademark aggression. She came out firing, landing clean and consistent strikes that forced Dhuivetter to respond. While Dhuivetter connected with power shots, her technique began to fade as the round wore on. Flores capitalized with sharper, more accurate combinations, securing the third and deciding round.

A Memorable Debut for Both Fighters

After three hard-fought rounds, the judges rendered their decision: Yorreni Flores defeated Abigail Dhuivetter by unanimous decision (29-28). Flores showcased her relentless pace and fluid striking in her XFA debut, while Dhuivetter, competing in her first kickboxing bout after several XFA appearances with the promotion, demonstrated toughness and the ability to adapt under pressure.
