Two Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts will be meeting for the very first time in competition with a Combat Jiu-Jitsu bout scheduled for June 22nd at Xtreme Fight Night in Crossville, TN as Jerry Burns of Foothills Gracie Jiu-Jitsu will be taking on Chatt Lavender of Monkeytown MMA. Both are academy owners and long time professional fighters who will be competing under the Combat Jiu-Jitsu rule set for the very first time. Unlike MMA, combat jiu-jitsu bouts take place during a single 10-minute period, with the only allowable strikes being the open-handed slap. Open-handed slaps can only be delivered once both competitors in the match are on the floor. While the bouts starts out standing, if the contest doesn’t transition to the ground within its first minute, a coin toss will be held to determine which fighter starts out in the attack position. These rules make for a very exciting match and with both of these athletes being Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belts with years of professional combat sports experience between them, the fans at XFA Fight Night are in for what is shaping up to be a very memorable bout.
The winner of the bout will also be crowned the inaugural XFA Combat Jiu-Jitsu Heavyweight Champion. Their bout is sponsored by Social Brew of Crossville, TN We look forward to Chatt and Jerry competing in the XFA cage on June 22nd! Get your tickets today at www.officialxfa.com
