TEEN TALENT ON DISPLAY: Kyle Williams Narrowly Defeats Caleb Bayless in Overtime War at XFA BJJ 01

Crossville, TN – The youth movement was alive and thriving at XFA BJJ 01, where teenage standouts Caleb Bayless of Crossville MMA and Kyle Williams of Yard Call MMA delivered one of the night’s most exciting and technical bouts inside the XFA cage at Cumberland Mountain State Park.

Bayless, already riding high after a submission win earlier in the evening over Jakub Bulkowsk via triangle choke, entered the match with momentum on his side. For Williams, it was a high-stakes debut under the XFA banner—and he came ready to rise to the challenge.

The action started quickly, with both young athletes demonstrating confidence and composure well beyond their years. About a minute into the regulation round, Bayless jumped to a guillotine attempt, pulling the match to the ground and settling into an aggressive guard. He immediately began chaining submission attacks, forcing Williams to stay on the defensive. Williams managed to weather the storm, eventually passing to side control briefly before Bayless recovered guard and resumed his offensive pace.

With just ten seconds left in regulation, Williams passed once again to side control, finishing the round in a strong position as the clock expired.

In the two-minute overtime period, Bayless repeated his earlier strategy, jumping to a guillotine about halfway through. But once again, Williams showed grit and awareness, escaping the submission and advancing to side control to finish the round in dominant position.

Although the overtime was closely contested and could have gone either way, Williams’ control in the final moments proved decisive, earning him the referee’s decision victory in a thrilling XFA debut.

Both teens left it all on the mat, showing that the next generation of grapplers is ready to make waves in the XFA cage.
