HARRIMAN, TN —  The Roane State Expo Center was packed this past Saturday for XFA Fight Night 4, and one of the most anticipated matchups of the evening delivered in full: a clash between undefeated light heavyweight prospects Tyler Jones and Kenderik “Bloodknife” Davidson for the Amateur Light Heavyweight Kickboxing Championship.

Both athletes made their XFA debut with perfect records and reputations for finishing fights. Jones, representing Torch MMA & Fitness in Georgia, entered the bout at 8-0, while Davidson, fighting out of Ethos Martial Arts in Arizona but originally from Cookeville, TN, came in at 3-0. The intensity leading up to the fight was palpable, and the bout itself lived up to the hype.

From the opening bell, both fighters came out aggressive, meeting in the center of the cage with no hesitation.  Jones immediately asserted pressure, pushing forward behind sharp combinations and accurate striking.  Davidson proved to be a composed and technical opponent, defending well and firing back with well-timed counters.  Still, it was Jones who dictated the pace, controlling the range and keeping Davidson on his heels for the majority of the first round.

The second round saw Jones step on the gas even more.  His pressure intensified as he began mixing up his attacks and targeting openings with increasing precision.  Davidson showed remarkable toughness, absorbing heavy shots and continuing to answer back when opportunities presented themselves.  Despite his grit and effort, the damage began to mount, and by the end of the second round, Davidson was visibly bloodied.

Between rounds, it appeared Davidson’s corner had seen enough.  The fight was stopped on the stool, awarding Tyler Jones the victory via corner stoppage after two dominant rounds.  With the win, Jones remains undefeated at 9-0 and captures the XFA Amateur Light Heavyweight Kickboxing Championship in his promotional debut.

The bout was a standout moment on a stacked XFA Fight Night 4 card, and both competitors left a strong impression on the fans in Harriman.  Jones’ relentless forward pressure and clean striking earned him the title, while Davidson’s toughness and heart were on full display in defeat.
