XFA Fight Night 4: Francis, Hanning Step In After Opponent Changes

Harriman, TN –  Two determined flyweights are set to collide at XFA Fight Night 4 on May 24th at Roane State Community College in Harriman, Tennessee, as Seth Francis (0-1) of Knoxville Martial Arts Academy and Cody Hanning (0-1) of Crossville MMA look to rebound from tough debut losses and earn their first amateur MMA victory.

Both fighters are stepping up on short notice after their original opponents withdrew from the card. Seth Francis was originally scheduled to face Andrew Mills, but Mills pulled out of the bout last week due to undisclosed reasons. On the other side, Cody Hanning was set to face KMAA’s Tanner Heard, who was officially removed from the card earlier today.

Now, with just one week’s notice, Francis and Hanning will square off in a clash of hungry competitors looking to make a statement in the XFA flyweight division.

Seth Francis made his amateur debut back in February at XFA Fight Night 3, also held in Harriman, where he suffered a first-round loss to Moses Lee. Representing the well-respected Knoxville Martial Arts Academy, Francis has had several months to regroup and improve since that outing. Though the loss was a tough one, Francis showed flashes of potential and returns to familiar territory eager to turn the tide.

Cody Hanning made his debut just two weeks later at XFA LIVE 02, taking on Lalo Balderrama. Fighting independently at the time, Hanning also fell via first-round stoppage but has since joined Crossville MMA.  Now representing a full team and entering with greater structure and preparation, Hanning is looking to showcase the strides he’s made since his debut.

With both athletes still early in their careers, this fight represents more than just a second appearance—it’s a chance to course-correct, to grow, and to prove they belong among Tennessee’s top amateur flyweights.

XFA Fight Night 4 is shaping up to be a high-energy night of action, and the matchup between Francis and Hanning adds an intriguing layer of redemption to an already stacked card.
