Crossville, TN –  XFA Fight Night 5 delivered another unforgettable night of action at the National Guard Armory in Crossville, TN, including a chaotic and explosive heavyweight amateur kickboxing bout between debuting independent fighter Marquis Scruggs and fellow independent competitor Thomas Miller (0-2).

In a fight that promised raw power and unpredictable moments, both heavyweights came out swinging from the opening bell. It was clear early on that this wouldn’t be a technical chess match—it was a slugfest. Both Scruggs and Miller threw heavy leather in the center of the ring, and although both men showed early signs of fatigue, neither held back.

The bout took an unusual turn midway through the first round when Scruggs’ protective cup became dislodged and fell out during the exchange. After a brief pause and a quick fix from his corner, the action resumed—and Scruggs wasted no time pressing forward.

Moments later, Scruggs landed a powerful right hand that sent Miller crashing to the canvas. However, as the crowd roared in response to the knockdown, Scruggs’ cup fell out again. This time, before it could be re-secured and the bout resumed, Scruggs made the decision to not continue, prompting the referee to wave off the contest.

Although the fight ended in an unconventional manner, it was Scruggs who had the upper hand when the stoppage occurred. The bout showcased the gritty heart of both heavyweights in an all-action first round, despite the unorthodox ending.

The match marked Scruggs’ amateur debut and Miller’s third outing in kickboxing. While the result goes down as a stoppage, fans were treated to a memorable heavyweight showdown full of big punches, wild moments, and unpredictable drama.
