![]() Cookeville, TN – The Xtreme Fighting Alliance (XFA), Tennessee’s premier mixed martial arts organization, is proud to announce that beginning July 25th, it will officially implement the full range of weight classes recognized by the Association of Boxing Commissions (ABC) Unified Rules of MMA. This change will take effect at XFA LIVE 03, scheduled to take place at Revolver of Cookeville in Cookeville, TN. By aligning with the ABC’s updated weight class structure, XFA aims to expand competitive opportunities for fighters and enhance athlete safety through more precise weight classifications. This decision allows for a broader spectrum of talent to compete in divisions that more accurately reflect their natural size and build, reducing the need for extreme weight cutting and providing more matchup possibilities across the board. The expanded weight class structure will include divisions such as Super Lightweight (165 lbs), Super Welterweight (175 lbs), Super Middleweight (195 lbs), and Cruiserweight (225 lbs), in addition to the traditional divisions already in place.
XFA continues to lead regional MMA by fostering fighter development, improving athlete safety, and delivering high-level, professionally sanctioned competition throughout the Southeast. The promotion remains sanctioned by the Global Association of Mixed Martial Arts (GAMMA). For more information on XFA events, updated rules, and upcoming fight cards, visit www.officialXFA.com.
